Welcome to the stretch run.
Most teams have a pretty good idea where they stand right now, and will be looking to build some momentum heading into the playoffs.
For obvious reasons, the best game of the day is Pelham vs. Rye. I have no reason to believe this will be a lopsided win either way. The forever rivals match up well physically. I predicted a 4-2 win for the Pelicans based on them being a deeper team that avoids mistakes under pressure.
I’ll be at the game, and you can follow me @lohudhockey for updates. Due to the late start, the story will not make our print editions. You can find it on lohud.com around 11 p.m.
A couple of other notes …
We’ve got two fundraising efforts going on tonight. Somers/North Salem is collecting to support former classmates Michael and Brendan Less. Rye is collecting to support cancer research and treatment.
White Plains coach Howie Rubenstein is going for his 250th win against New Rochelle.
Last but not least, Iona Prep is back in the CHSHL playoffs and is facing St. Anthony’s in the A Division semifinals. It’s a best-of-three series.
Send along scores, please, if you’re out watching.
