I was at the opposite end of the rink and lost the puck after it flew by the goalie. We did hear it make contact with metal. And the puck came back into play without any real momentum. Tiso immediately turned and began celebrating.
After the game, I spoke to a number of Section 1 varsity coaches who all were in the corner on that end watching. Every one says it was a goal. And they were later shown to be correct when video stills began to circulate like the one I have posted.
Scarsdale deserved to win, so let’s not assume the call prevented Suffern from capturing a fifth straight championship. And let’s not completely kill the officials. It’s hard to be a goal judge when you have not done it once during the season.
