There are no slow days left with teams looking to squeeze in rescheduled games before the Feb. 12 deadline.
I see a couple of interesting matchups. Hen Hud needs to get itself righted, but Yorktown is capable of pulling off an upset. New Rochelle is going to get a test against Rye Town/Harrison. Nyack/Tappan Zee and Mount Pleasant are getting a taste of NHL conditions with a game at Nassau Coliseum.
Mahopac and Rye will be playing on the new outdoor rink at Brewster Ice Arena, which is a cool little facility. Dress warm. Mahopac is using the game to spotlight Breast Cancer Awareness, and the Indians will be wearing pink sweaters and socks. There will be a bake sale, chuck-a-puck and ribbons for sale. All proceeds go to fund cancer research. The school will also pay tribute to a number of people affected by breast cancer during the game.
I’m heading out to do a feature, which is something there hasn’t been enough time in my schedule for this season. I’ll probably throw a few score updates on Twitter, as well.
