Mamaroneck wants to be that team nobody wants to meet in the playoffs.
It’s a logical goal for a young team dealing with a steep learning curve, and believe it or not, the slumping Tigers are only a couple of points away from being postseason eligible, five game losing streak and all. They’ve picked up a bundle of bonus points for playing a loaded schedule. Pulling off an upset or two before the seeding meeting in a month might help avoid the dreaded first-round matchup with Suffern.
Scarsdale has to be ready for tonight’s game at Hommocks.
It’s a rivalry, so there will be some choppy moments, but Mamaroneck is beginning to play better and score goals. There cannot be any mistakes in the defensive zone, though, against the Raiders or it’s going to be a long night.
Keep us posted if you’re out watching tonight. I’m on a hockey hiatus for a couple of days in order to finish a couple of Super Bowl assignments, but I’ll be monitoring the blog and Twitter for scores and news.
