There’s not a lot of games to get excited today, but if you haven’t seen teams like Hen Hud or Somers/North Salem play, they are worth the price of admission. Neither team is deep. Both play with the kind of energy and emotion that make them fun to watch. It’s not always pretty, but they consistently frustrate opponents.

North Rockland secured a 7-2 win at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake thanks to a balanced scoring attack. Nine players recorded at least a point. Danny Moore led the Red Raiders with two goals and three assists. Charles Lowther added two goals while T.J. Brennan had three assists. Mark McElroy had a goal and an assist. Anthony DePinto made 20 saves in the win. Teammate Steven Checco had seven saves. … Pelham outshot Niagara Wheatfield 44-27 in a 4-2 loss. Andrew Schauer and Ben Hurd had the Pelicans’ goals. … RJ LaSpina had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win for Somers/North Salem. Aidan Quaglino made 24 saves for the Sabers. Adam Greene and Chris Cunnington had the Huskers’ goals. … Max McGee had four goals and an assist for Pearl River in a 5-4 overtime win against Byram Hills. The Bobcats got a pair of goals from Rob Lunder.
