We’ve got a lot of teams heading north for a taste of upstate hockey.
Pelham, Mamaroneck, Clarkstown, North Rockland, Rye, Rye Town/Harrison are all logging serious miles in search of competition and chemistry. If you happen to be in the building watching those teams, by all means, keep us posted. If you are tweeting, include @LohudHockey and I’ll send the score along.
I’m heading over to Sport-O-Rama to watch Suffern and Pearl River go at each other. For those of you scoring at home, the Mounties have not lost to a Rockland County opponent since falling 6-4 to Clarkstown North on Dec. 16, 2006. That loss was avenged twice over later that season, and the winning streak is up to 28 in a row.
The other big local game to keep an eye on is Somers/North Salem vs. Mahopac, which is a must win for the Indians, who probably aren’t going to be in play for a league title with three losses. The Sabers play with a lot of attitude and emotion, and will be in play against most of the top programs.
Follow me @LohudHockey for the updates.
