Here we go again with the weather.
If you don’t mind a little slipping and sliding, there is one game locally that hasn’t been postponed – Liverpool vs. Scarsdale at the Ice Hutch. They moved the game time up to 1:15 p.m. in hopes of getting it in before the heavy flakes begin to fall. Let me know how it’s going if you’re watching, I’ll share the updates.
We’ve also got one team upstate – Mahopac.
Clarkstown is coming home early as the school districts did not want the team on the road later today when the storm is expected to be more intense.
As for last night, I’m sure Pelham is going to be lobbying for the No. 1 spot in next week’s power rankings after coming back and beating Shenendehowa. I’m thinking we can discuss that more next week when the Pelicans get together with Suffern. John Jay went a long way for a rematch with CBA/Jamesvill-DeWitt and got a really impressive win.
Looking ahead, I’m getting back to a normal schedule and plan to see at least five games next week. You’re probably not seeing a lot of hockey in the paper and that’s because most of the games end past our 9 p.m. deadline. The box scores are online, though, as soon as the coaches input the stats. We are relying on them even more this year, and it’s been a difficult adjustment for some. Hang in there while we work to get everyone familiar with the process.
Enjoy the snow.
