Now that Mamaroneck has everyone’s attention …
I know, Saratoga was a senior-heavy team when it won a state title last season, but the Tigers lost a lot on graduation day, too. It’s a big win for a young team (the sophomore class accounted for every goal in the win) from a confidence standpoint. Going on the road, watching a banner go up, grabbing a lead, and then coming back in the final minute to win is more than good scrapbook material. That is the kind of experience that can flatten the learning curve.
The game of the day has to be Mamaroneck vs. Shen, keep us posted on that one if you’re watching.
On the local front, Clarkstown and North Rockland are bumping heads, which makes three games in three days for the Red Raiders. These programs are very similar – disciplined and determined – so I don’t expect a lot of goals.
I’m the chauffeur, coach and cook at home today, but I’ll be retweeting the scores I get @LohudHockey.
