Saratoga goalie has a streak of 158 min of shut out hockey. Didn’t allow a goal in 3 playoff games. He also believes they have a great chance of beating Suffern, that they are not as deep as his Saratoga team. We’ll see. They are a good team

That’s an impressive streak. They are a great team. However, he’s wrong. Suffern does know what’s coming to them. He’s also wrong about our lines. We have three solid lines playing. Not one or two to their four. Who wants to bet they don’t play four lines? Or if they do, it will be extremely limited. We were not at full strength when we played them so they may be taking us too lightly.

Toga /Suffern should be a great game. Having watched both teams from an opposing point of view, the teams are pretty evenly matched.
FWIW regarding the common opponents reference, the Mamo / Toga lopsided score partially resulted from several of Mamo’s best players being benched for a significant portion of the game, with a bunch of players that rarely played taking their place. This is not to disparage the Toga effort in any way, they played a very strong game and deserved the win….
prediction… suffern 2-1, Goals by Hill and Tiso,, modica with a couple huge saves at end of game to keep lead and win!! there it is folks, don’t even have to watch..
Oh Dakota…it is you who knows not what is coming. Your shutout streak will end early and then your season will be over. You will hear “Crazy Train” in your sleep.

Suffern will have to get a monster game from their goalie.
Suffern was very lucky mamk had no idea how to hold a lead with 1 minute left.

I don’t think the Saratoga goalie’s shutout streak of 158 min in their first 3 playoff games is as impressive as it sounds. If you look a those scores (4-0 over Shen, 5-0 over Bethlehem & 6-0 over LaSalle), they also beat those same 3 teams the first time they played them during the regular season(7-0 over Shen, 5-1 over Bethlehem & 10-2 over LaSalle)
That being said…
@ On the Sound- Suffern has been taking each opponent during playoffs one game at a time, they aren’t taking any team lightly and most certainly will not take Saratoga lightly even though they beat them with a short bench the fist time

Suffern is 2 good. Can’t beat Suffern at SOR. Ill be there I can’t wait. Suffern finally healthy. I believe that if the suffern players weren’t at juniors all weekend suffern Mamo would have been different. Modica is the man. Playing each game for his grandpa who passed away. Heavy hearted but playing great. Saratoga goalie steak is impressive if you know anything about hockey but I think suffern ends that streak early and the toga fans go home upset. Final score Suffern 4 Toga 1

NW you guys should get through Ithaca very easily. I think West Genny will be taking another 45 min trip to Utica. Also check espnur.com Fred Miller does a great job if they r broadcasting the west Genny game
I think Mcquaid may suprise some people. I don’t think they are the same team that dropped two roadies to Pelham and Rye. I could be wrong, but we will know by 5PM today. I predict Mcquaid over WG.
NW if that happens it’ll set up one hell of a ride to Utica. If WG goes down were looking at NW Suffern McQuaid and Massena in Utica. Yes I believe that much that Suffern wins today.
Interested Sections 9 and 1 fans can hear Massena- Monroe Woody game from two sources, either 1340 WMSA with Jerry Manor and Dave Maclennan or North Country Sports which is the network for the final four.
Massena is gonna destroy monroe Woodbury. I feel bad that MW has to travel all the way up there to get slaughtered.

Second off, hockey fan… you are insane. Even the most die hard Suffern fan knows that Suffern was fortunate to get a late goal. MOst would say if they HAD to choose… Mamaroneck outplayed Suffern by a bit. To blame the tight score on other games is just ridiculous. Suffern won, fair and square, but it very easily could be Mamaroneck playing Saratoga today… not suffern.

I am not insane. Suffern yes was outplayed for most of the game. But when it came to it suffern buried 2 goals and won the game. It’s not hard to blame a performance on best kids playing 3 games over the weekend. It does start to wear your body down. I’m not taking anything away from Mamo they played great and just couldn’t bury suffern. Even the other suffern guys were saying as bad as suffern was playing they were only down 1. You can’t try to kill the entire 3 period against suffern they r gonna attack and get to the net. They got the tip they were looking for game over. Suffern plays Saratoga. So explain to me how I’m insane for saying when 3 kids have 3 games in a weekend that doesn’t hurt. Most suffern fans were def in agreement with me on Sunday

@RF and HockeyFan, everyone knows Mamo can play with Suffern. That was proven over three 1 goal games this year. So whether some of Suffern’s best players were fatigued and sick (I was told two of them were sick and one more than the other) doesn’t change that. However, it is NOT insane to say fatigue and health are factors when you need 100% to compete with a super talened team. Last year, Suffern almost lost to MW in the regionals (they were heavily favored) after some of their best players played a junior game. They were a little gassed. It was a factor.

Yes we do. I do think from watching video of Saratoga goalie they r quite confident about facing a team they lost too 3-1 at Toga. Now they take the bus ride down get on a smaller rink at SOR. Suffern has a big advantage today. 4-1 Suffern
I think if Mamaroneck played toga today they would have had a chance to win also, Mamaroneck got much better then the first time they played toga, I also think the 2 of Suffern players that played 3 games that weekend were some what fatigued and sick and I think they will play even better today, but I see a close game going 3-2 either way giving the edge to Suffern being the home team.

OK, then let me tell you that Brill had strep, SChiff getting off a concussion, Trey Herlitz was up all night with a cough, Bellis was hanging with Enriquo Palozzo all night, Chap had a migraine, and Morris had croup cough. So I guess we are even, imagine what mamak would have done to suffern if all those players were healthy. What a joke, even when suffern wins… they can’t deal if a team plays well with them. Backhanded BS comments.
By the way, check out the tip, it went in off his skate…. borderline legal goal. How about Mamk not getting 1 power play all game. I mean if there is anyone to make excuse why the game was close… it was mamk. How about when mamk beat suffern at Hommocks, were the suffern players “fatigued” awwww poor babies. The best part of all this, is most of Sufferns team will be back next year and they will be bigger and stronger, no one is making excuse why it was a close game Rocket Fuel, some people are just saying hope fully these kids feel better today against toga, Dosn’t take a way from Mamaroneck great performance in the Championship Game it could have gone either way and today it will be close also.

Rocket…. Suffern didn’t have all there players at hammocks it happens. Than Caruto got knocked out if game by a dirty hit. And it’s not borderline if no kicking motion. Y did try home run passes instead of playing the game like they were first 2 periods. Suffern won series 2-1 and they win game when counted. None of the suffern people taking performance away from Mamk.
@ Rocket Fuel – STRUT, STRUT, STRUT, STRUT. With all those Seniors on your team they should have spanked SUFFERN. But they didnt, and next year, after graduating all of them, lets see what Mamo can accomplish. Can it be a 19-3 year (and counting)? DOUBT IT!
I watched that game. It was a great game. Could’ve gone either way. Neither side should be making any excuses about anything. That’s hs hockey. Kids get hurt, sick, up all night for whatever reason. Bottom line is both teams should be proud. I feel bad for Mamo, that had to really hurt. Had their chance to seal it on the breakaway.

I’m sorry, this “fatgue” discussion is an absolute joke. Did Modica look tired when he absolutely robbed Conley on a clean break with 7 MINS LEFT iIN THE 3RD PERIOD? Did Hill look pooped when he made an absolutely gorgeous play setting up the tying goal with 58 SECONDS LEFT IN THE 3rd PERIOD? Did Tiso look like he needed a nap when he came down the right wing, beat the Mamo defense wide and set up Brennan at the point WITH 2 MINS LEFT IN THE FIRST OT?
The discussion on this is moronic as it is bewildering. Any attempt to try and cheapen what was a great effort by both teams is just douchy. Face It Suffern bloggers / apologists, you won the championship by a goal in OT. Is that somehow not good enough?

Guess what… last year Schiff (far and away their best dman and arguably their best player) was out the entire year… yet you don’t hear mamk bloggers whining about it. Some of the suffern bloggers are out of control… thinking suffern is the center of all high school hockey.
That is why I am jumping on it. I did not say jack squat… until bloggers start implying that the only reason the game was close because of “fatigue”.

RF and Rj sound like they still haven’t recovered from the loss. I think my point was that it was not INSANE to talk about fatigue being a factor. And RF there is another video I saw from a Clarkstown Dad that has a different angle than MSG and it looks like stick from that angle. It is on YouTube. And the MSG video also shows Conley’s shot on 2nd breakaway might have actually gone wide if Modica didn’t glove it. Not sure though. We have great respect and admiration for Mamo.

Hockeyfan, Guess you are eating crow now? Everybody, plus the fans, players, and you, thought Saratoga would lose. What a great victory! I loved watching the Suffern team pumping up the crowd (waving arms). However, did you see them on the ice after the game? hmmm!!! It’s going to be interesting to see what you say about Suffern lose after reading all of your predictions. You know nothing about our team. Just because you beat us one game the town had us out to dry. We came into the home rink and took care of what we wanted to do WIN.
