Always hard to narrow the list to 17, especially in a 29 team Section that had 5 state ranked teams. You could easily double the size of the list and still have worthy players left off. Congrats to those that made the cut. All are deserving.
Congratulations to all the award winners. However its pretty obvious that block voting by the BIA crew dominated the awards
How many games did bene play for rye?
Can someone explain the rationale of not picking 3 forwards, 2 D and a goalie?
The rules are that the coaches pick the top 17 players, regardless of position. Last year, there wre 4 goalies on the team.
??- Seems like Benny was never really healthy this season. Battling the back issue the whole time. I think he played just 9 regular season games and the first period in the Greeley playoff game. Woud have been fun to see his performance with a sound back, but it was not to be. I am sure Pelham wishes they had the services of Schaur for the full season and Scarsdale really missed Schell down the stretch. Injuries are part of hockey.
The loss of Kenny McLean was probably a bigger hit to New Ro than any of the other injuries simply because of the lack of depth on the team.
Thought there would be more D, but the ones chosen are definitely the best
Where should I drop the gift basket. Around back as usual
furthermore…
i agree, however with or without him, new rochelle gets to the same place…maybe a higher seed pits them against someone else in the semis and they have a better shot, but i think the semifinals was a far as they were gonna go this year
congrats to all the all league players, recognition is well deserved!
Congrats to all. I go to Hen Hun. I am bit surprised that Robbie Albano, Hen Hud, was not even considered for Honorable Mention. He was 10th in the league in goals and third on his team in scoring. The Junior D was rock solid at his position, particularly since it was his first season playing the position. Come on coaches? There were other players overlooked, but the players who were selected…great achievement.
Don’t know much about Albano. He is in a different division, but a couple of the players from Hen Hud, particularly selected for Honorable Mention are really!!!! questionable.
lots of questionable picks. I have to say it was definately all the Brewster area teams all backing each other up. Many of those Brewster team coaches, more than a third of the section, have never seen any players outside of the Brewster teams because they dont play anybody else. Really dumb way of doing it, goes back to the seedings, unfair with that too.
Can’t argue with this list. Just one question. What is the methodology of the vote? I don’t understand how you have 12 forwards,3 Goalies and two Defenseman?
