It seems we’re going to get in a couple more games today, weather be damned.
There’s a pretty good matchup at BIA in Somers/North Salem vs. Mahopac. Unless the seeding numbers get jumbled in the next few days, they could meet again in the Division 1 quarterfinals, so both teams will be looking to instill doubt. I’m going to be down at RCDS getting one more look at the Wildcats, who apparently have some FAA competition for a change. The lost last week to King, so it will be interesting to see where they are with the postseason looming.
I’ll have the power rankings up later in the day, so check back for those, and leave a score if you’re out watching, please.

N-W- Is St Joe’s playing the best hockey in the state right now? They just laid waste to Salmon and Massena by a combined 18-2 score.
fanot, is that st.joe’s of buffalo? don’t they have 3 varsity teams and 2 jv teams?
mike, i would go to bia
rcds game is going to be a clinic, 9-0
c
I know, but I’m going to do a feature, don’t care about the score.
also today
st.luke’s at harvey, 4pm
c- if you go on the Section 6 (Buffalo area) website (other links in Cliff’s website)- you see St Joes as a catholic team that plays with the publics (like N-W’s team). I don’t think they participate in the Section/State tourney, though.
you are right fanot, they dont. they are the usual opponent of our chshl’s champion for the “chshl state” game (buffalo area versus nyc area)...if its not st.joe’s, its usually canisius, st.francis, etc.
The powers that be did not listen Mike, the seeding meeting is Thusday
anyone going to see fordham or iona tonight
fordham-st.anthony 5:30
iona-chaminade right after
any word on scarsdale vs. Stepinac tonight? Is there too much fog?
St joes has some club teams, but they only play other club teams. They are decent, but don’t dominate those leagues. The varsity team that plays in section six has yet to lose to a nys team, public or private. They participate with public schools like nw during the regular season, but playoffs are all catholic school. I’d have to say they are playing the best hockey in the state, fortunately we are done seeing them for this year.
BTW. Fayetteville Manlius from section 3 has been ruled ineligable for their sectional playoffs. They played 21 games. Ouch! They were a #2 seed on one side of the bracket.
Its been the same date since the beginning of the year. Whats the issue?
Does rye town play rcds tomorrow?
4-2 rcd after 2
@ fan
Yes 5pm
Either rcds is playing horribly or fieldston actually has some players
Thanks Spider-Man. And does that game count for seeding. It is not on the section one site
All the games that would count for seeding will be finished by Wednesday except one and those teams chose to play on Thursday and did not want to change.
Fieldston barely beat mamks jv this year. How can they give rcds a game?
Iona just beat chaminade
Any update on how scarsdale did against Stepinac tonight?
Scarsdale won 8-0 I heard
Stepinac is one of the worst teams around!!
SNS BURIES Pac 7-1..
SNS is a solid team with good players and an excellent goalie, could be trouble for any team in the playoffs.
S/NS is the real deal, Pac is a good solid team (slumping a bit), but S/NS put a butt-whooping on them. Pac was held to under 15 shots because of the strong D zone play of S/NS. Look out for S/NS come sectionals. Also congrats to Senior Fwd David Rubenstein on his 100th career point, quite an accomplishment.
Actually the Somers/NS goalie made 21 saves. Game was not as lopsided as the score indicates. Shots were like 26-22. S/NS scored on 4 or their first 6 shots. S/NS will be a tough out for any team in Division 1.
Not lopsided? 7 to 1 you dummy. That’s a butt whooping! PAC is done. First round knockout
Knock knock..who is it? NCAA calling! Ya neva know
BREWSTER, NY – NY Apple Core is proud to announce that Rich Prunesti has been named Offensive Player of the Week for his 3-game performance last week. Prunesti had an extremely productive week, scoring 9 points in three games. He tallied a goal in the loss to the Hitmen and then caught fire on the weekend recording 8 pts on the weekend as his team earned two important wins at home over the Revolution. The New Rochelle, NY native has 24 goals and 12 assists (36pts) in 38 games this season. Apple Core would like to congratulate Rich on this accomplishment
Wow scored on 4 of their first 6 shots, proves the point goalies can win and lose games for a team.

Somers/NS playing well, they have a balanced team.
