We’re getting a few more games in today, but the weather did exact a toll.
A number of games cannot be made up simply because there is no time or place to play. To give everyone a little extra time for rescheduled league games, I’m hearing the powers that be will discuss pushing the seeding meeting back to Friday, and that sounds like a good idea. Division 1 starts on Sunday and Division 2 starts on Monday so there is wiggle room.
I’m going to be at BIA this evening, to watch Hen Hud put its eight game winning streak on the line against John Jay, which is a good test for the Sailors, a program that’s only been in Section 1 for two years. You can follow me @LoHudHockey for updates. The game across the way, Lakeland/Panas vs. Clarkstown, might be interesting, too.
Brewster needs today’s game to get into the playoffs, so there’s a little added motivation.
Iona Prep is opening the postseason, hosting Chaminade in Game 1 of their best-of-three set. If anybody is out watching today, leave a score for us, please.

who is the best goalie you have ever seen in section 1
Top 3 This past decade:
Natoli – Suffern
Stark – Suffern
Glaser – Mamaroneck
anyone know what colleges those kids play/played for?
Glaviano
Iona game postponed
Regular season game (potential seeding implication) including st anthony being played tonight
Chshl playoffs postponed a week, which means Fordham Scarsdale game is on tomorrow
Best Goalie? I’m going to say Natoli. I don’t know if he went anywhere after high school. Glaser also really good, did not play hockey after high school.
Natoli had good size, really quick, great anticipation, outstanding glove hand… great composure.
Clarkstown NOrth had some excellent goalies when they were good too.
There was an excellent goalie from Monroe-Woodbury about 5 years ago… pretty sure he went on to play college. Name escapes me, anyone know who I am talking about?
Carmel update
MW state winning goalie Sean O’Sullivan?
Updates anyone
5hole,
Pawling 3 vs. Brewster 4, (Final) Brewster qualifies for Sectionals.
Carmel 2 vs. Yorktown 3, Start of the Third…
Thanks is Yorktown in or do they need this game to qualify
Regan, Natoli, Glaser, McIndoe, Gluck. Most colorful- Brick Wall of Fordham.
Yarrobino
Curious to see who mike d picks
Do teams even try to shadow Gillespie? The kid is a freakshow of offensive ability. Stop him, you stop Clarkstown. Maybe teams don’t have anyone with the talent to shadow him.
Regan, Natoli and Gluck all starred in Empires for Hudson Valley. Highest level of play around here. Pat Kane played in that tourney a few years back. McIndoe and Glaser very athletic.
Really cannot believe the goalie for c town is one of their forwards . Chin quit team or was benched.
st.anthony won as expected tonight
playoffs open tomorrow – doubleheader at world ice arena (flushing)
game 1s
5:30 fordham-st.anthony
7 iona-chaminade
How many saves did Shapiro have? He really kept the game close for a while (him and the posts) i thought it was a decent game, Hen Hud had a very small bench and they were definitely worn down but the bigger and faster JJ team who plays pretty physical but i thought they were a little sloppy in the 3rd period.
stepinac is taking fordham’s place in today’s (monday’s) scarsdale game
fordham has their playoff game..
You go to give Hen Hud credit, they prove the point that an excellent goalies can keep you in the game.
Bobby Leizer of MW played at Fitchburg D3. Sean O played club hockey at Scranton.
Natoli went to Becker, low end D3 team. Barely played in 4 years there.
