The countdown is under way.
Believe it or not, there are just 10 days left in the regular season. The seeding meeting is Feb. 14. Let’s hope the weather cooperates because it will not be easy to reschedule cancellations.
I’m thinking Mahopac and New Rochelle is an interesting game on a light day. Both teams could use a jolt of confidence. New Rochelle can score on anyone, but the Huguenots have lost two in a row and would greatly benefit from moving up in the seedings to lessen the upset potential in the second round of the playoffs. Mahopac has dropped three of four and finishes up with Somers/North Salem and White Plains. I’m not sure that group will have any optimism when the postseason starts.
Leave us an update if you’re out watching, please. I’ll post the power rankings later in the day.

Really quiet on the blog today. If a game happens and nobody blogs about it…. does it matter?
Nice to see Jay make the Sportwriters’ state ranking at #11 for DII. That is 5 Section One teams in the state rankings.
Heckuva game. Greenwich won 2-0 with an empty netter.
Both keepers made several highlight reel saves. Up and down, fast paced and very hard hitting.
Take pac lp or carmel lightly in 1st round your season will end quickly.
FINAL:
Greenwich 2 (ENG)
RCD 0
Great end to end action, Rcd goalie some outstanding saves early 3rd peroid
Fast and physical . . . . .
Cliff,
Looking at the standings can you confirm the following in DII for playoffs:
Pawling – Needs 1 more win to get in
Yorktown – Needs 1 more win to get in
Brewster – Needs 1 more win to get in
Byram – In because league record will be minimum .500
D1
Carmel – Need 1 more win, or are they in because of class record
Sleepy – Needs 1 more win
Mt. Pleasant – Needs to win both?
Thanks
End of 1 Pac up 1 – 0
Congrats to Jay for braking into the NYS rankings!
5 hole, I think you missed Somers/N.Salem, they are the wildcard in Conference I League A.
Somers is strong , no one will be taking them lightly.
3-1 nr up end of 2
4-1 new ro now
5-2 final
Triple Option-
Pawling is in. They already won 2 of their 8 Conference 1-B games, so they qualified.
Yorktown is in. They play 9 games against D2 teams this year and have already won 3 of them, meaning they are guaranteed to win at least a third of them.
Brewster still needs to win 1 of their remaiing four games (Scarsdale, Carmel, Pawling, SNS)
BH is in. They have 3 league wins, meaning they will be at least .500 in their league games.
Ossining is out.
Carmel is in. With their two wins over Pac, they are guaranteed to go at least 2-6 in Conference 1-A…Just enough to qualify
Sleepy needs 1 more win (NTZ, Mamk, LP, Pelham)
Mt. Pleasant only needs to beat BH to get in. That would give them 2 league wins meaning they would be 2-4 in the Conference 3.
Cliff, Thank you.
