We had quite the conversation going a couple of weeks ago and will be able to go for a couple of hours again tonight as long as the questions keep coming in. The only thing you have to do is come back to the blog at 8:30 p.m. and follow along. It’s a good time, maybe a little irreverent at times, but fun, nonetheless.
And if your question isn’t being answered immediately, be patient. They stack up in a hurry and it does take me a minute to answer each one. You can also submit random comments.
We’ve got a lot to discuss starting with moving the Section 1 championship games to BIA, and if somebody reminds me, I’ll share my thoughts on why it’s not a good idea to play these games at the higher seed. I might have a question or two for you guys as well. We’ll get to it all at 8:30 p.m., and you can always come back to the blog and replay the chat in case you miss something.

What teams other than Suffern and Ithaca are playing in the Suffern Tournament?
N-W—Pelham & Salmon River
Pelham vs Ithaca on Friday
Suffern vs Salmon River on Friday
Pelham vs. Salmon River Saturday
Suffern vs. Ithaca on Saturday
Thank you!
A score: RCDS 4, Harvey 2
When the championships are played at BIA. Will it be pay one price like at West Point? Or will you have to leave and re-enter. I really think there will be some upset people being turned away.
I don’t know any details but WP & North Rockland are playing Cortland/Homer and Whitesboro over the weekend. That group is not calling it a tournament. Maybe someone knows how all this got setup?
The smart thing would be to have the section championship games staggered. One on Saturday at one rink. The next at another rink on Sunday.
This Brewster thing is stupider than mante teos girlfriend story.
Sec 3-
North Rockland invited the teams down, but wanted to give them both two games while they were in town, so they got WP to come over to SOR and play them as well. Basically the same thing Suffern did with Ithaca & Salmon River when they invited Pelham over to join in the fun. Saturday at SOR will be like a youth hockey tourney with Salmon, Ithaca, Cortland, Whitesboro, Pelham, and WP all in town for games hosted by Suffern & North Rockland.
The games will be staggered at BIA. There will be 2 separate admissions . This way no one should be turned away and there will be plenty of parking.
...and alot more revenue for Sec 1
I watched Pesce [ SHI ] and Willows [ Clarkstown ] vs BC this weekend.
Pesce was on every other shift.
Willows had a beautiful assist in a 4-1 loss to BC on Friday and scored the first goal on Saturday in a 2-1 win.
Section One can be very proud of these players,
OK. This stinks for mental cases like me who want to watch both section championship games. So I’ll assume that one game will be at like 1 pm. And the next game at 5 pm or so? So this way I have 2 hours to kill between games? How much pinball can one man play?
All those dopes that used to complain about West Point, will soon realize how good they got it. Why do I have a feeling that that kid from ETB breaking stuff and after getting tossed from last years game was one of the bigger reasons West Point does not care to have us back. Did ETB or the kids parents have to pay for it? Section 1? Did ETB administrators and coaches apologize to the powers that be at West Point? Did the kid and his parents apologize and offer to pay? I’d love to know this.
Freeze your butts off in a rink in the middle of nowhere on cold hard bleachers, as opposed to seats with a back and a 60 degree rink, and two games back to back and one price to pay.
Let the higher seeds have home ice if we can’t have West Point this year.
RF,
Go to the Blazer Pub between games have a burger and a beer, burgers are great and chili also. I will liken it to Sutters Mill near Sporto. It will prepare you for that anger management class you need to attend
Bring cash they don’t take credit cards…
All that had to be done to get invited back was done. The date was set 2/24/13 back in March. The games were scheduled.
The simple fact of the matter is that the powers at West Point did not realize that the Army-Navy wrestling match was at the same place at the same time. This was an impossible scenario so playing during the week was looked into but the dates and times were not feasible.
Why they did not realize that there was a conflict, an oversight by WP.
Agree completely…first thing i thought of when RF posted was BLAZER
Mike will probably head to Chucks in Danbury for a big steak on JN’s tab during the break!!!
@scores
I do go to Chuck’s every once in a while. There’s some good Italian food on Route 6 in Danbury, too. Here’s my tip, five minutes from the rink … 121. (It’s located on Route 121 between North Salem and Brewster). It’s always been good. There won’t be any food expensed during hockey finals, though. Not after they send me to New Orleans to do some Super Bowl advance work. I’d feel guilty.
