It doesn’t look like we heard from Clarkstown, but the Mall Rats did beat Guilderland/Mohonasen 4-2 yesterday, which I think makes them my pick to be the second-best team in Rockland. … I have no idea how Stepinac did, so if any CHSHL fans want to share details, please do. … We don’t have a new date for White Plains-Fordham Prep yet.

The latest New York State Sportswriters Association poll is out, and they made some needed corrections. Keep in mind the rankings are based on results prior to Suffern beating Williamsville North and Mamaroneck beating Ithaca. The first Rye loss of the season is not reflected, either.

It will come down to the North Rockland – Clarkstown match for 2nd place. Clarkstown’s team strength is its defense. North Rockland, with its full squad, goes 2 good lines at forward.
My pick for now is Clarkstown.

How come the rankings are all D1 and D2 what about D9? Is it because the M/W coach who does nothing is teh president of D9 and therefor does nothing?
Willie that was bad. I am sure John will explain that there is no D9. D 1 is large schools in the ENTIRE state, and D2 is small schools in the ENTIRE state. These rankings are for ALL the sections, MW is section 9 but they are D 1.
Could not believe parking no issue at the ice hutch the other night. Then saw the soccer bubble looking worst than the metrodome.Flat as a pancake. That would have put a big monkeywrench into area hockey if it was the rink.
Agree on that. Evidently the rink was prepared, although I doubt you could ever prepare for those conditions of 50+ winds and so much snow. Talking to those guys they were there the whole time working and fighting the storm. Thankfully they made it. Large crew there all night and day and kept up on it
Even with 3 regulars returning to North Rockland, I still think Clarkstown won’t have a problem with them. Clarkstown has played very close games with upper level teams and beat a team that NR lost to in the Albany area.
the rink has been there for more than 14 years and the sports dome is relatively new. Before the sports dome was up parking was never a problem. Whenever the rink has games the sports dome seems to have tournaments. The city should have done something about the parking once they allowed the sports dome in. Its a shame it was so badly damaged but it was a serious and dangerous storm we had

So then again John, Why is M/W not ranked if they are D1? Must be because the coach cannot find $35 to join the rankings. He can find $1000 for a gaolies custom painted helmet. I wish my kid played for a team with no talent and a coach that cared more about the program then about his son being assistant coach and getting a paycheck. A program that has a AD that does his job. There may be no school around here that has had the talent M/W has had the last few years. Any other coach would have taken M/W to the States championship game each of those years.
The kids all pay attention to the rankings?
We played Mamaraneck, Out shot them and lost on a great deflection in OT. Would like to see them play again but our coach only scheduled one game with them.
We got Suffern Friday and I know they have a great coach, Good team. Hopefully the boys will pull it off, I say the boys because there is no coaching!
